Sound off, now!

I'm fed up with websites that start playing music or some other sound as soon as you visit them.

I'm even more fed up with those that try and play me a video before I've even worked out what the website's about, or whether I even need to be there in the first place.

Do web designers not realise how annoying these can be? (Then again, do the designers really care what a visitor thinks?)

If I want to hear some music or play some video then give me an option to do that. Tease me in, make me want to play that media.

Such annoying websites are almost as bad as those that try to impress me with some pointless flash presentation.

It used to be I could test my mouse skills by how quickly I could kill the pop ups.

Browser development has put an end to that game with automatic blocking of pop ups.

The new challenge now is to see how quickly I can locate the "skip intro" button on the flash screens.

I'm getting pretty quick at that now.
